2018 Audi S5 Sportback officially confirmed for US market
The Audi A5 and S5 Sportback have been redesigned, and they're finally coming to the U.S.

Evolution is the solution when redesigning the Audi A5 and S5. The look of these two cars has gone mostly unchanged in their near ten years on the market, the most dramatic update coming for the 2017 model year. Revealed back in June in Germany, the two cars will show face for the first time on American shores at the 2016 LA Auto Show, including the new Sportback model seen here, which finally makes its way to U.S. showrooms.

Good move, will steal so,e sales from BMW's 4 series grand coupe. The previous generation was quite nice.

Except for the face, this car looks 3-series inspired (but not copied), inside and out.

I used rave that Audi had some of the best interiors around. I've stopped raving.

I agree, I no longer think Audi interiors are that amazing. The 2003 A6 Quattro I had was fabulous and this car is about the same size. This car will resemble the A7 to a certain extent and that's a good thing and the hatch will make it extremely versatile. If its priced the same as the A4 I think sales could tilt towards the A5. If its priced at a premium it might just be a niche player.

Outside of the fifth gen 5 Series, I haven't seen a more Japanese/Asian-inspired German car before this A5/S5 Sportback. Change up the grille a bit, take off the 4 rings, put a Toyota badge on it, and it's good to go. Actually, leave the grille as is, take off the 4 rings, put a Hyundai badge, and it's good to go.

And, yes, I know Hyundai is quasi-Korean.

WTF does your comment even mean? How do Japanese-inspired German cars correlate to Hyundai's theft of German designs? Whose observation is twisted here, not to mention that Hyundai is of KOREAN origin?

And my "ever-loving hatred for Audi"? Really? LOL. Maybe your ever-loving defense of Audi is skewing your own perception, my friend.

Oh, and your last sentence, it's "your".

Oh, wait, I get it now. Because I said "Japanese/Asian". But, again, there is no correlative truth to your statement. Koreans inspired by Japanese does not make my statement of Germans inspired by Japanese false. It just makes you feel good to help you sleep at night because it helps you to displace guilt...and truth.

Ugh. I meant Koreans inspired by Germans.

Hyundai because of its designer evolved the Audi look and made it more exciting, but because Audi has stood still stylistically, they now look--stylistically speaking--as drab knock off of Hyundais.

The A5 sportback is a passable-looking car, but it's definitely NOT one that will be a future classic.

Yes you got me. I misread your sentence.

But I'm still waiting for you to make sense of your argument...oh, that's right. You can't.

"Your" is actually an adjective.

Audi is getting their act together in vehicle styling, a needed change. Sales in US confirms this. One bad point here is the black belts and seat components with the brown leather.
