The main issue with the G-Class is that it has never got a huge overhaul. When you look through the past several decades you will easily see that every model looks almost the same. Luckily, Mercedes-Benz put this vehicle into focus and finally redesigned it. They were even thinking of discontinuing this model. However, big demand from the U.S., China and Russia couldn’t be neglected. New G-Class is getting a modern look. Although new model is going to be upgraded, its shape should remain the same. Perhaps Mercedes-Benz can think a little bit about a profound redesign. It would be great for the sales if G-Class had few rounded corners

The G never got freshed up cuz the Stuttgart Gestapo didn't have to. They already sold every turd box they could order from Magna. There are enough gangstas/athletes/pimps/CEO/Soccer Ho's that will scoop these things up infinitely so why reinvest in a costly 30 YO platform shared with the Craftsman riding lawnmower?
