VIDEO: Chinese Upstart Devastates Nürburgring Lap Record With 1360HP Nio EP9 Supercar
NextEV, the Chinese-backed electric vehicle company, has launched a new road car division called Nio with the unveiling of a limited-run 1360bhp supercar.
 
Called the Nio EP9, it’s an all-wheel drive two-seater with four inboard electric motors and gearboxes developed in collaboration with NextEV’s Formula E team. The car’s combined power output equates to one megawatt and enables it to accelerate from 0-62mph in 2.7sec. Top speed is 194mph

I love the people here who say the Chinese incapable of competent design even as they point to counterfeits. The counterfeits are a logical and expedient way to meet the rabid demand for vehicles. Copying is much faster than designing from scratch.

That said...the Chinese are far from stupid and when they choose to step up, they will be noticed.

With respect to this vehicle. Sensational styling. Breathtaking in every way. It's sinister and beautiful. I'm smitten.

If Honda knew how to style vehicles, this is what the NSX would have looked like.

This vehicle should have been a Tesla.

That's one bad ass car. Doesn't matter who makes the car. If you are setting records on Nürburgring, you are doing something right.

This is better looking eye candy than most of the big name OEMs could muster up and some pretty damn impressive performance numbers on the "Bring". So what isle is in at Walmart?
