Let see - the IRS was formed during the Abraham Lincoln Administration - and the EPA was formed during the administration of Richard Nixon - both republicans.

Sorry - but true capitalism created the Trusts of the Robber Barons - and the almost depression of 2007 when the republican congress reduced regulations on selling mortgages to people who could not afford them. While the EPA has both increased gas mileage in cars and reduced emissions greatly and WE benefited from that(TWO success stories alone) (Somehow the car manufacturers have always managed to meet them too) - it is unlikely that that would have happened based on billionaires making profit only - which is what pure capitalism has produced in this country. We do not need more billionaires in this country - we need middle class jobs - which investors will happily send overseas to make themselves richer - and trickle down DOESN"T when the factory is not here.

Due to increased gas mileage and new drilling and production techniques - the USA has gone from a major oil buyer - to a country that actually can meet its own energy requirements. Government - in many ways - is good. Without it - we would still have slaves manning the factory jobs still here - among other things. Equality for many different groups is another MAJOR success story for government as well. Government has produced education for all children - something that did not happen before the Civil war too. YOu would not be able to write your blurb without learning how to in school. (I don't know if THAT is a success though). Free speech - a result of government allows you that though - another PLUS.

THere are MANY pluses and minuses to having a government - including peace enforcement - protection of our country - fire fighters - many are EMT first responders - as well as minuses - and while I would NEVER agree that a Government is entirely good - it is NOT entirely bad either - and in many cases is needed to protect the average person - including you. IT is when the actual government - which is - believe it or not - US - fails to direct its representatives to do good - that we get into messes like the ones we have seen over the years. Of all the major voted in governments - we - by far - get the fewest voters - and as a result - we have the least representative government.

I forgot to mention - BobM - that in a country without government - which means NO laws - no law enforcement - and no penalties - that means that your survival is equal to your ability to handle a weapon - and YOU would already be dead - and NO one would care - because that is what YOU want!
