VIDEO: Think That The Alfa Giulia QV Isn't A Serious Threat To The M3? Maybe 179 MPH On The Autobahn Will Convince You
The autobahn is the gift that keeps on giving. A few weeks ago we saw footage of the new Acura NSX doing 192 mph on it. Now we have this video, which is admittedly almost a month old, of an Alfa Romeo Giulia QV racing to 289 kph (179 mph) on ze autobahn. What’s even better is that the person in this video is driving the manual QV, as in the model we won’t be getting in the United States.

Doing 179 mph on a closed track takes some stones. But doing the same thing during a light rain on a kinda-sorta-bumpy public road? Well that takes real courage, or a complete disregard for your own life and the lives of others around you. Let’s go with the former because that sounds better.

Looking forward to driving this one...from the reviews it defiantly looks like a contender. Hopefully they can get the quality and fit/finish right. That engine note is amazing too!

Good looking but like most things Italian, it probably won't work well. Hellcat engine option if it could shoehorn in there would be sick and worth selling my kids organs for.

Sergio made a mistake in the Ghibli and the closely related Giulia for not allowing the engine bay be able to swallow the Hemi and by extension Hellcat.

Italian car + American engine is a tradition. The Hemi will bolt into a Ghibli but the hood won't shut and yes it looks strange with a bulged hood, but it drives better. There are a couple of Ghiblis out there that have been converted to Hemis.

They'll get a few fringe customers, but they'll never do any serious sales volume in this country and they certainly won't threaten BMW in any way, shape or form.
