Citroen Ponders Entering North American Market
According to WardsAuto, French automaker Citroen is mulling a return to North America. But consumers probably won’t be able to go Xsara Picasso or C6 shopping in Poughkeepsie just yet. Think Canada.

The plan makes sense, if only because Citroen is not presently trading in one of the world’s largest auto markets, and with Canada’s comparatively easy homologation requirements (versus the US)—not to mention its French leanings, it would likely prove an easier entry point than the States itself.

As it is, Canadian consumers buy around 1.6 million light cars per year, including a number of vehicles that aren’t available in the States (think Nissan X-Trail, Smart ForTwo, Acura CSX, etc.).
