Porsche Is Planning To Sell More Mission e Cars Than The Panamera
No, it was caused by the fact that its similar production car, the Panamera, was ugly as sin by comparison. The Mission E concept actually looks like a four-doored 911, unlike the Panamera which is more of a flattened Cayenne.

By looks alone, Porsche's ambitions to sell 20,000 Mission Es a year seem completely justified. That is, of course, assuming the final version will bear strong resemblances to the concept, which at this point is anyone's guess.

While that information remains under wraps, another one managed to find its way out of there thanks to the company's CEO, Oliver Blume, who spoke to German publication Automobilwoche. “We have the Mission E calculated with a number of items in the order for about 20,000 units,” he said in a perfect German, and Google Translate translated.

.....and to this day, STILL no mention of price from either Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, or Audi regarding their electric "Tesla killers". I wonder why they are so scared of announcing even the slightest price range? Tesla announces their prices 2 years before even releasing the car. I bet the sticker shock of $200k is going to be a laugh fest.

20,000 seems an awful lot just to appease the government regulations. Maybe electric does seem like a viable alternative to combustion engine after all.
