Only TRUMP Can Save The Industry From The EPA Now
The EPA proposed to leave in place its greenhouse gas emissions standards for light vehicles through the 2025 model year, a quicker-than-expected move that shocked auto industry officials and set up a major fight between the industry and regulators.

The proposal kicks off a 30-day comment period, after which the EPA administrator could finalize today’s determination that the standards are achievable and don’t need to updated.

Here we go with another political article. I'll step in front of the arrows first. There are no "rules" that are cemented. Laws are cemented but can be undone. Rules can be changed and these ideologues can do whatever they want, just like BO has with his pen. The next guy will take out HIS pen and change all of this. Trump has stated if regulations are anti-business and they're anti-jobs, they're going away. The arrogance of these pencil pushing idealogues to force their ideas on the American people because THEY want this... this is one reason Trump won. WE run this show, not ideologue bureaucrats... There is no 'science" to support anything in these rules, its simply ideology.

From the article: But that would be a protracted process, subject to the full complement of notice and comment requirements. And it would mean overturning thousands of pages of agency science underpinning the current standards and surviving an inevitable court challenge from environmental groups. - So what, they're rules not LAW. Take the restraints off American business and American job creation.

The new implementation of EPA rules on heavy trucks has boosted the 10-year regulatory burden on America past $1 trillion, 75 percent of which have been imposed by the Obama administration.

Crap Article. Washington Examiner is a right-wing political journal.

From the Daily Kos - "Look, it's not exactly news that the Washington Examiner is a piece of far-right-wing, conspiracy-mongering, science-denying, clean-energy-bashing trash. No wonder why they give it away for free; nobody sane, other than a few on the radical right, would ever pay real money for it."

You statement that there is NO science to support anything in these rules is PURE nonsense - and YOU pointed that out in your second post. (Thousands of pages - etc).

For the last 6 years - the Republicans have controlled both the House and the Senate (And Obama has not been president for 10 years either). They will continue to do so for the next 2 more years. Why did they not move against the regulations before this - and these rules apply to ALL who sell or produce in the country? If you really believe that the money saved by making cars more polluting will go to anyone but the SHAREHOLDERS of the companies - you are whistling dixie. Profits go to the rich people mostly. ANd if you Think electing a billionaire businessman is a way to reduce the taxes for the average worker -think again.

Indeed - the incoming administration will be given the opportunity to propose ignoring the Environment - supposedly in favor of creating jobs - but there is NO reason to believe that cutting rules will actually create jobs in this country - and the rules apply to all who sell in this country as well. Noting that the EPA was created by the NIXON administration - blaming Obama while ignoring who controlled the law making process in Congress is simply being ignorant. WHEN we replace them ALL in congress - maybe we might get something done for the average joe - BUT until then - and I doubt it will happen in my remaining lifetime - the make-up of Congress - especially the Senate - means another 2 years of Grid-lock.

xjugs - Inbreed comment about about an inbreed person copied from an inbreed faux political journal and posted to an inbreed car discussion site. What a snowflake. Now if you want some intelligent discussion points, read Tom's posting above, not I would expect a piece of inbreed dog shit like you to register a cognitive thought of the implications.

I think the POINT of all this is that it is wrong to complain that ALL regulation is bad and costs companies money and should be dismantled.

Example - there are EPA rules that prevent companies from simply dumping cancer causing agents into our nations river systems - for disposal. Proper disposing of hazardous waste and forcing the people who DON't dispose of it properly is something that was and is still needed. AND killing that law will only cost US in higher taxes to remediate the problems this dumping caused.

There are other laws that companies must obey - believe it or not - they actually HAVE to pay their workers for the work they have done. WHile I am sure YOU would rather donate that to your company - for free - or if somehow companies did not have to pay their workers for ALL of their working hours - it would be cheaper to stay in the USA as a company - BUT it that what you really want? Not all regulations are wrong. Removing regulations does not escape the fact that it is cheaper to produce goods in many places outside of the USA - and without regulations - there would be virtually NO manufacturing jobs in this country - which are the basis for the middle class. How are you going to FORCE the companies who are moving their production overseas - to stay - without regulations that favor that?

I never said the EPA did not perform functions that were necessary otherwise Nixon would not of created it. But it's now run by a bunch of ideologues forcing rules down our throat's. If Bo was such a great leader he would present the case and bring everybody into the tent. But he's not and he doesn't want to work with anybody so he rules by executive order. Which is terrific because the soon as Trump finishes the oath but he's not and he doesn't want to work with anybody so he rules by executive order. Which is terrific because the soon as Trump finishes the oath bow BO and the last pathetic eight years will be erased just like the USSR.

States are free to impose their own rules even if EPA rules are overturned. The largest US car market is in California and I doubt they are going to go easy on automakers, especially with pollution in LA and Silicon Valley getting pretty nasty. So car makers will either have to make two versions of their cars or streamline operations with more efficient vehicles.

If EVs or Hydrogen win the platform war, then this whole conversation is pointless and the EPA can mostly be eliminated. I'm directionally for less regulation, but pollution and health are sticking point for me since I'm not a fan of breathing in air that will reduce my lifespan. Not an issue for the most part in the middle of the country, but I can see the smog from my office window most days.

An California being run by the Socialist Fascists in Sacramento would no doubt hobble sales by imposing laws upon laws that grenade the economy.

California despises business and that's why our economy is nowhere near as good as it could be.

If anything, I think Trump will pummel California for a variety of Leftist idiocies and I say speed the day!

OK Snowflake Bob, at least you got me laughing again. Aren't you the dinosaur that said you were qualified to be a climatologist and interrupt satellite and climate change data because you were a sanitation engineer? Didn't you say the earth was actually cooling rather than warming?

http://mashable.com/2016/08/15/earth-hottest-month-july-2016/#kS8abURUykq8

You said satellite data doesn't lie (correct, but people like you do)?

http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/WorldOfChange/sea_ice.php

You reverence a right wing, moonbat site article about one instance of falsified research to show that this debunks the over whelming evidence that it exists?

Since you just aren't able to as assimilate into society, time for you to slither off your unabomber shack in Montanta, load you weapons and await the apocalypse.

I love how people who are NOT scientists think they get to determine what is good science and what is bad science. What is proper evidence and what is not. What is established scientific fact and what is not. What is proper peer-reviewed theory and what is not. And how funding works in reality and how scientists are definitely NOT in it for the money. We now line in an Idiocracy, where Trump is President, facts are whatever is popular with the conservative crowd with no supporting evidence, and denial of reality and propagating ignorance is a sign of strength. THe fact is, the EPA has done more good than any other government agency in US History. Our memories have faded on how bad things were just 50 years ago in our air, the trashy sides of our roads, our rivers and our coasts. Much cleaner now. Much more conscieous of how dangerous chemicals destroy human and animal life. Thanks goodness California pulls so much weight in regards to regulations that companies follow. We owe a lot to them and their leadership.

Why would anyone believe bat shit Bob the sanitation engineer when he spurts out ludicrous data and websites with liberally quote facts and events out of context. A lonely societal reject with only the anonymous web to bring the snowflake solace.
