Mercedes Is Back In The Saddle Again As US Luxury Sales Leader
Mercedes-Benz sold the most luxury autos in the U.S. again in November, virtually guaranteeing that the Daimler AG brand will take the full-year title from BMW.

Sales of the Mercedes GLC sport utility vehicle more than tripled while C-class car deliveries held steady, giving the brand a 1.1 percent increase for the month to 30,363, according to a statement today. Toyota Motor Corp. said Lexus slipped 1 percent to 29,050, and BMW AG reported an 18 percent drop to 26,189 for its namesake brand.

Let me tell you something, take a good look at that sales sheet, that is BRANDING GOLD, anytime a luxury brand can create demand from Low End to High End being a leader or a threat in virtually every segment it enters, no matter the target market being executive assistant or CEO, production assistant or executive producer, kraft services or Actor/Director, this is as close to bulletproof as a brands image can get.

Kudos Benz

The challenge for Mercedes next year will be to sustain this momentum. They have the new E-Coupe on its way and the GLC Coupe. But those aren't volume drivers. The refreshed S-Class sedan is up soon. Not sure when a new GLE or CLS are slated. Haven't heard any news of an updated or refreshed CLA, which is needed.

Then again, the competition doesn't have much on the horizon, either. BMW has their new 5. Audi is bringing over the A5/S5 Sportback. Lexus has their LC. I'm not aware of any major refreshes for any other models in those lineups, either.

Audi actually has a lot of new models set to launch sales in the U.S. in 2017. Audi will launch the A5 Coupe, the new Q5 which is its best-selling model in the U.S. market and later in the year the new A8, which will have Level III automated driving capabilities.
