Desperate statement by a desperate man. FCA is burning cash, delaying models, cancelling models and Sergio is talking about blowing money on NASCAR. Just another headline grapping publicity stunt and pipe dream to get attention and to distract press from his failing strategies to introduce FIAT and Alfa Romeo in US market or merger with someone else to save FCA before it runs out of cash. This act is getting old and tiresome.

IF it were not for Jeep - this combination would have failed completely already.

Neither Fiat nor Chrysler had the Mid-size platform needed to compete in the US market place where vehicles do sell. And eventually - the lack of reliability of Jeeps will slow that marque too. Instead of "saving" ALfa - they should have put their resources into a new mid-size platform that could have taken both Front and rear wheel drive to compete in the VOLUME segments of the market - and they did not - and sealed their own fate.
