Trump Picks New Head Of EPA To Scale Back Obama Over Control

President-elect Donald Trump officially announced his intent to tap Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt as EPA Administrator, saying Pruitt will “reverse” the agency’s “out-of-control anti-energy agenda.”

The pick, widely reported Wednesday, places an ardent opponent of President Obama’s efforts to curb climate change to in line to lead the nation’s top environmental watchdog, a cabinet-level position and subject to Senate confirmation. The choice was blasted by environmental advocates, though it follows through on Trump’s campaign trail pledge to curtail the agency’s impact on businesses.
