SPIED: The Latest Look At The Tesla Model 3's Interior REVEALS, Well, You Decide...
The Tesla Model 3 has been a bit of a mystery for a variety of reasons. When will it release? What will it really look like? What's up with its super minimalist interior?

Well, we may be starting to get some idea with at least one of those items, the interior.

While we all got a good look at it during the little event Tesla threw to "launch" the vehicle and get hand raisers interested to make deposits, not much has been seen since. It was clearly a concept-like specification back then but from the latest image it doesn't appear that much has changed. An image has found its way online via an anonymous source that does not wish to be named. According to Electrek, they believe it is from a Tesla corporate party.

The snap shows a Model 3 looking very similar to what we've previously seen except it has a new steering wheel. Although keen observers will point out it doesn't even have HVAC vents, if you note there is a horizontal "slot" where HVAC will emit. There doesn't appear to be a head's up display binnacle in front of the dashboard but that doesn't mean it isn't a possibility. We're thinking this is still an early-stage prototype.

So, uh, where's the passenger side airbag? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

...When the Model 3 was unveiled in March 2016, it was at night; aside from a few pictures, the interior was never clearly shown in daylight. Tesla has prohibited pictures of the interior of the prototypes in all other official outings and photoshoots since – presumably because it will change and Tesla doesn’t want people expecting that it will look like what we see now.

A new picture emerged online recently. We can’t trace it back to an original source other than an anonymous imgur link, but it seems to be from Tesla’s corporate party in San Jose last month. (update – the person who took the picture wishes to stay anonymous but sent us the full resolution picture)...

Assuming that's real, it's rather like a autopsy room.

That is a real photo, the car was at an event in San Jose. I do not think that is the final steering wheel, but everything else in the photo is pretty much production ready. The HVAC is the black line in the middle. Cuts down number of parts, costs, and should heat/cool the car faster. Like Apple, I'm sure competitors will copy the idea in future products.

The design looks really simple/clean. Personally, I like it as is including the white/black color scheme. Not everyone is going to love it, and it will take a while to get used to (like the new Model S nose), not because it isn't a good design but because it is so much different than what people are used to today.

There are only two center console buttons on the Model S, hazards and glove compartment. I wonder where those are located on the 3.

It's too sterile like no humans are needed. Oh wait! Now I get it! Tesla autonomous technology AKA Autokill does not need people. If Hitler were alive today he wouldn't be pushing the VW Type I, it would definitely be Tesla.

Also there are many cars that do not have an obvious opening for passenger airbags. It will explode out of the plastic when using that design. In the photo, my guess is that would be somewhere in the white area above the glove box.

Gives new meaning to the word "stripper".

This market segment wants their cars to be different, so it will sell. Those that don't like electric or hybrid, will pretty much hate anything/everything about these electric/hybrid cars, which is fine.

Curious, what about it do you think looks cheap?

Let's start with the long strips of cheap-looking black plastic. Let's continue with the large swaths of seemingly white plastic. Then go to the cheap JC Whitney "performance" seats. This car is likely to easily hit $50K and the interior is as stark as the last generation Spark, and yet by comparison the last generation Spark has a much more engaging interface.

The interior in that photo I think will start at $37k (same price as a Bolt), ~$2k for the leather seats which I think look great, ~$1k for the glass roof.

To me it looks like an iPhone when many cars today are Blackberries--tons of unnecessary buttons. The plastic doesn't look cheap to me, if anything it feels like a more premium, artsy design... very Apple-esque. It feels futuristic. It's a matter of opinion, can't say you're wrong and I'm right. I do think that is the final design so unless it looks better to you in person, don't think you are going to be a fan of the car.

That floating center screen is very sexy - that is until, inevitably, someone strikes one of the sharp corners in an accident and bleeds to death or else the screen breaks free in a crash and becomes like a knife slicing thru the cabin and the driver/passenger scalps, limbs, and jugulars.

Since Tesla already has the "Autokill" feature (i.e Autopilot), perhaps we can name this one the "Cuisinart"?

Tesla - if the Falcon Doors don't cut off one of your limbs...then the Model 3 detachable mega-screen will!

So, does it come with the straightjacket as standard equipment?
