Trump's Choice To Lead EPA Will Bring Radical Change To Agency That Has Remained Unchecked For Years
As Oklahoma's attorney general, Scott Pruitt waged war against what he deemed to be overreach by the federal government on health care, immigration and environmental regulations. Now he's in line to rule over one of his most frequent targets: the EPA. If Pruitt is confirmed by the Senate as Donald Trump's EPA administrator, he would bring a radical change in philosophy to the EPA that gives more deference to state action and slows the efforts to address man-made climate change that have been a hallmark of the Obama administration.

Exactly what is needed at the Environmental Protection Agency - protect us from the environment and give us the tools to take the last few steps to finally win this war on the environment! And be sure to build an shield to protect the EPA, and any other government agency as well, from actual science. We could call it the Anti Science Shield (ASS for short). Finally coomononsense returns to our government!

Hi Bob, not hard to find....yet you bet nobody could find this mythical 97%. Shows a bit of a narrow line of research you have done on the subject. http://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/. Of course feel free to believe what you want and get your science from Gillian's island if that's what you prefer...it's a free country, but I think our government should listen to the scientists who know what they are talking about to make informed decisions that require informed scientific knowledge and that affect our country and not from a political organization like the the heritage foundation or some pop sci magazine interested in splashy articles to drive sales. Just so you know I have no problem with cars that get 2mpg as long as the exhaust is clean.

BTW the studies cited by NASA are peer reviewed...man you are right science is dangerous...also to consider dissenting views, they are subject to the same rules...publish...have your peers review it. Science is a constant cycle of putting out the best current data and theories to describe that data. Over the course of time they either become accepted or are discarded for a better theory. From a "snowflake to all the soot particles out there (this name calling is fun, I might enjoy it - right now the overwhelming consensus from peer reviewed science is that climate change is real and humans are the major factor in the current rise in global temps. Yea it's winter so it's cold...nothing to do with long term climate change.

So now that your 97% claim that nobody can find it was proven wrong you shift to another argument. Amazing conspiracy going on. Having been a weatherman in the Airforce (although not a climatologist) with an engineering degree I enjoy reading both arguments and to me the very convincing argument is on the side of global warming hands down. I love cars as much as anyone but I also don't think it is a good idea to ignore reality because my political convictions tell me otherwise. Even the US military believes the science and is looking at potential conflicts that may arise globally due to rising sea levels etc...

Hi Bob, actually from UT BS in computer science and electrical engineering (took a number of mechanical engineering classes since I like that kind of stuff as well). I don't disagree with a few of your points, the energy from the Sun is certainly a factor in our weather long term, other factors are the tilt of the earth and it's orbit which varies over long periods of time. However the basic understanding of what is a greenhouse effect and what gasses contribute to amplify that are well known. I am all for having a discussion or even argument about this subject but there is really no need for name calling or trying to denigrate anyone here. Back to the sun for a moment... here is a nice article you might enjoy from our physicists at NASA https://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2013/08jan_sunclimate As you will see our sun is remarkably stable and they did study the effects on the variable energy the sun releases over time and concluded that this is not a major factor in what we are seeing now. As for theory...that is what science is...theories to explain observations. As new data becomes available theories change or are replaced by new theories. Newton's theories on physics were changed by our abilities to gather new data which was not explainable using his theories thus quantum theory was born. Funny thing, I did work on picking up trash at one point while in college to make ends meet so yea I guess I have been a sanitation engineer as well.

To cut through the propaganda I notice on this site, a little light reading for our local ostriches here. Sticking you head in the sand is not going to change reality. This link below you will not find on your local right wing websites or Fox News and it explains how the more a scientist concentrates on this field of study, the more the evidence leads to Climate Change as reality. Dedicated Climate Scientsts overwhelmingly understand the meachanic of these process are real. The further away from this field of study a scientist concentrates (physicists, etc) the more they diverge, although still overwhelmingly understanding of the reality of Climate Change.
