2008 Volvo XC60

2008 Volvo XC60
Inside information from Volvo points that the Swedish manufacturer is preparing a baby XC90 to compete against the BMW X3. The compact SUV is expected to be introduced as a concept car in next January at the Detroit North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The production version called XC60, will arrive several month later either as a 2008 or 2009 year model.

One of the main reasons I didn't buy a XC90 was that it was too big. Now they are making it too small. The current X5 is the perfect size.

The XC90 is too big? its narrow and ugly, and the X5 is bigger than the XC90.

The 2008 Volvo XC60 looks like the new Honda CRV from the back, sort of.

Darn, first it's Audi stealing design ideas from Acura and now Volvo is ripping Honda.

What next, BMW using Lexus design ideas?

The rear of the 2008 xc60 looks like the rear of the 2007 xc90 (new style tail lamps). Honda bit off volvos 2003 xc90 design. Don;t get confused.

Volvo seems to be the ONLY manufacturer who has a design idea and sticks to it..... the cars all relate to one another..... they have a uniform design language - other manufacturers try, but they don't quite get it....

to me if you looks closely at the fender designs etc, it looks like it's trying to follow it's BMW competition.

It looks pretty cool. I always loved Beemers, they are my favourite care, but between this and the X3 i'm leaning towards the XC60.

It would make a lot more sense to call it the XC50, right?

XC50, XC70 and XC90. Not XC60.

I've found the XC90 attractive and different. This one won't disappoint.

The XC50 title is most likely reserved for a Cross Country variant of the V50 model.
