You could own the last Bugatti Veyron coupe ever built
This is the last Bugatti Veyron coupe ever built. And while it will never be as fast or as pretty as the Chiron that replaced it, just 450 examples of the revolutionary supercar were produced in a span of 10 years. Of those 450 examples produced, just 48 of them bore the Super Sport designation – making this one an exceedingly rare find.

A centerpiece at RM Sotheby’s Arizona sale next month, one lucky collector will drive away with this special supercar.

I'm not sure how kind history is going to be to the Bugatti Veyron.

This one Sotheby's is selling is basically a leftover. The Veyron has no motorsports history, its "components" are from the VW/Audi parts bins, its ugly (though the interior is beautiful) and the customer base are sports figures, middle-easterners, and perhaps dictators.

The Chiron will not be any better.

For collectability - the EB110 of 20 yrs ago will soon be a $20MM car. To wit...The Bugatti EB 110 was unveiled on 15 September 1991, in both Versailles and in front of the Grande Arche de la Défense in Paris, exactly 110 years after Ettore Bugatti's birth. In 1992, a lighter and more powerful model with 450 kW (612 PS) at 8250 rpm, the EB 110 SS ("Supersport") was introduced. This car is capable of 216 mph (348 km/h) and 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds. There were 139 Produced. Early in 1994 Formula One driver Michael Schumacher purchased a yellow EB 110 SS, giving the company a great deal of publicity.[1] Schumacher retained the car until 2003Hard times hit the company in 1995 and, as result of chairman Artioli's over-ambitious purchase of Lotus in addition to the company's quest to develop the EB112 four door car, the company was bankrupt. The EB 110 participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1994. The car qualified a very competitive 17th overall and 5th in the GT1 class but did not finish the race. The car is now on display at the Lohéac Automobile Museum.

The problem with the Veyron was that it was ugly. Yes, it was "the fastest car of all time" but what is the point if it is ungainly looking. The Chiron isn't much better.

I think a Bugatti should be something like a Maybach coupe i.e. big, imposing, buttery fast, but not a top-speed contraption that graces posters in the rooms of 12 year old boys.

I never really saw the attract in the Veyron. Top speed tool with $50,000 tire set. Whatever. Nice interior. DB11 or Vanquish would give you thrust and nice leather too for much less. More useable in the real world too.
