STUD OR DUD? Three Row Tiguan Caught In The Nude Ahead Of Detroit Reveal
We knew Volkswagen was up to something, but this is our first physical confirmation that a larger Tiguan is on the way. New spyshots reveal the extended wheelbase SUV - previously thought to be called Tiguan XL, but now confirmed to take on the Tiguan Allspace monkier - testing with absolutely no disguise ahead of its reveal at the Detroit Motor Show. The images show an extension of both the wheelbase and rear overhang for the Nissan Qashqai rival, which is expected to accommodate an extra row of seats for occasional use.

Looks like a Chinese knock-off of a BMW SUV.

I know Matt will slam it, along with the others that prefer more edgy designs. While I'll reserve a firm opinion until I see it, I like it.

The problem I have with it is the MY 2005 styling. It's not ugly, but there is no pulse either. It should sell better than the current Tiguan, which is an epically terrible effort. Price it to the penny against the competition comparably equipped and give it a Hyundai warranty because that is the only way it will get traction in the marketplace.

Tiguan Allspace?? What is with VW and DUMB names.

VW Kodiak or VW Yeti would be brtter.

THere is nothing to Slam here -= it is just another Generic 4x4 - using the basic layout and styling of most of them that were on the market 5 years ago. The Tiguan has been on the market for too long already - adding an additional version with the same styling does not bode well for it. IT is neither good nor bad - it just is BLAH.
