Wozniak Reneges On Trading In Tesla For A New Bolt Citing GM Charge Times Are Too Slow
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak’s introduction to electric vehicle ownership was interesting. The engineer claimed that Tesla CEO Elon Musk reprimanded him in an email exchange for buying a gas-guzzler in 2013 instead of a Tesla Model S. He has since bought the vehicle and has been often spotted at Tesla Superchargers and talking up Tesla on his various social media accounts, which is why it was surprising when he said that he was looking into trading it for a Chevy Bolt EV earlier this year. Now that the Bolt EV is actually available in California, where the Woz lives, he didn’t actually end up buying one; instead, he bought another Tesla – and highlighted the vehicle’s main advantage on the Bolt in the process.

Wozniak has been passe for roughly 4 decades. He's just butt hurt that Steve Jobs and Bill Gates will be remembered as the technology gurus. Woz is a desperate old man trying to cash in on clout he never had. I wonder what Elon paid him.

I still want to know what he liked more about the Bolt than the Model S. My best guess is the Android/Apple car-app integration (which Tesla's will eventually get as well). Maybe the smaller size? The Bolt is a great step forward for an oldschool manufacturer, but it isn't even on the same planet as a Model S.

Apples-to-oranges comparison in the first place anyway. It would be like someone deciding to buy a Porsche 911 over a base Mustang or some equally idiotic comparison.

I suspect his gravy train from GM dried up. Woz was featured in the dreadfully terrible "dare greatly" commercials for Cadillac. Each of the vignettes was supposed to result in follow up commercials and it would not have surprised me if GM wanted to use him to legitimize the Bolt and the stupid fat man was enticed by French fries from Elon.

Why use the work "reneges" 009 and not "changed his mind". You seem hurt that this guy didn't frown upon Tesla as much as you thought he/everyone should.

Can we just bludgeon this fat fuck into irrelevance metaphorically? #Woz is a gay bottom and Elon is his alpha top.

Do we really care what the #correct gay response is?

Clearly Woz's twink-boy whores are not bought in.

Yikes, MD you've really gone wild on this one. Woz has done amazing things in the past and less in more recent years. But if I had a net worth of $100m, I think I'd be on the beach treating work opportunities as hobbies. As for the gay thing, you do realize he's married to a women and has had relationship with other women but not apparently with men. And of course, there's no sense maligning however many million gays live in America - my guess is they like great cars like the rest of us.

They don't call him deranged Darringer for nothing. He is so mentally gone that Mattie caries on conversations with himself since no one cares what he has to say. My wife directly supported Woz for a couple of years and he is truly an interesting, smart and inventive soul. It's refreshing to meet a real futurist instead of a semen stain like Mattie that talks to the angry voices in his head.
