2017 Nissan Maxima - Luxury Sedan
We just love Nissan! And if you are a regular visitor of our blog you probably noticed that. They say don’t judge a book by its cover, but the design of its cars is just staggering. Okay, we must admit that engines are not top-notch and they can have better acceleration. However, no one can stay indifferent when looking at their vehicles. One of those mind-blowing cars is 2017 Nissan Maxima. The latest generation of Maxima brought several significant changes and it was released as a full-size compact car. But let’s first take a look how it was developing through decades.

I have found the Maxima - basically a fancy Altima - to be hard to justify. It once was more sporty - no longer. Nissan engines - once top notch - are falling behind - and interior room in the Maxima is a joke in rear.Frankly - this seems to be a case where someone here likes the styling - and fails to consider how little you get compared to the competition.

I have to agree with it being hard to justify.

It's unattractive in pictures and does not acquit itself in person. This is an ugly car.

Now factor in the howling CVT and Nissan's "French" quality and this is a MESS.

Why not option out a Mazda6 or get a Fusion Sport? Both are so much nicer.

This is no different than MB's S-Class and CLS-Class. Both are large size sedans but one has fancier styling (CLS-Class). Each sedan has a purpose and caters to a different crowd. One crowd may favor function over form (e.g. S-Class), whereas, the other crowd may favor form over function (e.g. CLS-Class). It's a case of different strokes for different folks, take your pick.

??

Is this a news article? Or (more likely), is it really just an ad in disguise?

Did they and others post comments that say the engine for this car in this segment, wasn't top notch? You can't be serious. Are you saying the Avalon, Azera, Taurus orImpala engines are better????

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I like the design.
The issue for me is what are you getting for your money. Again I like the interior. The problem I have is that it is front wheel drive sedan for 40K with a small amount of options. For that price AWD should be standard as well more than 300HP. However to get to reality it should be rear wheel drive with a 350 turbo four or a tuned V6.The truth is that this is a 32K car with options all day long, not 40K. At 32K I can accept FWD. Next all suspension calibrations should be at SR specs for the none sporty versions. The SR should have sportier suspension calibrations and rubber. The bottom line here is what this car offers for the price. The answer is not enough and there are other choices out there for the money.

This car is not attractive. Just like the designs from Lexus, this came out and everyone oohed and aaahed over it because it was different. But it looks dated already. And the interior was dated from the word go. So many other better options out there and its billing as a "sports car with 4 doors" is the biggest misnomer.
