2018 VW Atlas production begins in Chattanooga

VW calls it the “boldest vehicle ever sold by the brand in America,” although one designer part of the team doesn’t agree with that statement. The seven-seat SUV is the biggest MQB-based model ever and will effectively go on sale next spring at a starting price that will undercut the more luxurious $49,495 Touareg.

I get the feeling that VW has had the Atlast ready to go since 2012 or 2013 and kept putting it off.

When is the Bentley version, the Bentatlas, being launched? This package size would make more sense for Bentley than basing their Bentayga/Bentoureg on the Toureg.

Go to any Bentley dealer's website - they will have at least two or three Bentayga's available for immediate delivery. Apparently the waiting list because 18 months production was 'sold out' cleared fast once customers saw the $290,000 actual vehicle.

The Bentiguan is especially crass in person. If it were priced $150K less, it would be a hit, but it simply is obviously too Touareg for $300K.
