Audi R8 Real World Photos
Fourtitude forums poster mennace66 caught the Audi R8 in New York City (on a flatbed). Most likely this is the R8 that Audi will use in Wednesday's parade down Park Avenue. Click the link to see more of the first ever photos of the R8 on the street in production form. What do you think of the R8 now that you have seen it in real life photos?

In a single word the R8 is brilliant and I want one or two.

Bravo Audi!

wowm this looks so much more exotic than a 911. The Porsche looks kind of outdated, now we need to see how the performance stacks up!

The performance will be equal, if not better than the 911 C4S.

The Audi R8 is quoted by Audi as going 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. Since Audi underestimates their times and the RS4 which has the same exact engine, while weighing 600 pounds more and can do the 0-60 dash in as low as 4.3 seconds the R8 should easily be able to pull off 0-60 in 4.0-4.2 seconds.

With that type of performance it would be faster than a 911 C4S.

In order to address the speed of the 911 Turbo, Audi will place a V10 engine into the R8 with horsepower rumored to be around 500, with exact amounts unknown at this time.

With roughly 80 more horsepower than the V8 version R8, the V10 model should be able to run 0-60 in around 3.6-3.7 seconds, making it as fast or perhaps 1/10th of a second slower than a 911 Turbo.

So the performance, will be there to match all 911s except the 911 Turbo, and maybe even that too!

I can't wait to see a Volkswagen, according to Logical, smoking the pants off of not just M BMWs in a straight-line, but also on tracks, along with giving AMG Mercedes-Benzs the track beat-down special as well.

Heck even other RS Audi rockets and Porsche 911 C4Ss will fail to meet the amazing numbers posted by the R8 on a track and in V10 form you can make that a failure to catch this machine in the straights too. The R8 comes within a hair and perhaps even meets performance of the illustrious Porsche 911 Turbo in V10 form.

A Volkswagen that can do all that and in V10 form costs more than any BMW?

Oh yeah and I forgot the opportunity to get stares by people thinking you are driving a Lamborghini Gallardo is absolutely priceless.

Where do I sign for my own R8 w/ V10?

That's pretty different from everyone else's response.

I love it- I think it's as sexy as a DB9, but with a more technological feel. This car is just stunning.

Make mine black with a carbon fiber sideblade.
