EXCLUSIVE! Spies Brave The 77 Degree Temps In San Diego For The Launch Of The 2017 Auto Show Season!
Typically the week between Christmas and the New Year is a pretty slow affair with most of the media outlets taking the week off.  That’s a shame since a sleeper among the auto show circuit is at the same time of year.  The San Diego Auto Show might not be the top tier of shows goes as far as global events, but it certainly has lots to offer.

We can certainly understand why the media may want to avoid this show, after all there were lines, and we bravely battled a 77 degree morning in the elements to get it. But seriously, this show year in and year out consistantly get the most traffic per square foot of any other show in the nation. Since we understand that this is an up close and personal venue we never miss a chance to take it in while everyone else is distracted.

Our Agent001 hit the ground running this morning and caught some of the latest concepts and new vehicles minus the huge crowds that always make it a challenge to shoot.  Yes, San Diego gets crowded, but not like the big guns giving you the opportunity to get in close and get personal.

So kick back as some of the best shots of the year appear below in sunny San Diego and don’t forget to check out the entire gallery as well.

Ho-Hum - nothing new there is seems.

Where are the real SPIES anymore- in the past -we would already have camo-pix of the next generation of cars - the 2020's and up - along with real stories of the new styling directions. THe spies today have dropped the ball. THere is little to look forward to.

It's not the lens, it's the the aspect ratio of the shots is incorrect when we posted. Agent 009 will fix and it will be corrected shortly. Thanks for the heads up. The way the publishing system works sometimes the aspect will be off because we use a number of different cameras and we need to remember to check because each camera produces a different ratio.

Cheers and Happy New Year!

I always love seeing multiple shots of the same angle because redundancy it where it's at, yo! That's my peeve. Whenever the spies go on a junket, they take a bazillion pictures--and I understand why--but the reasoning behind posting redundant shots baffles me.

The pictures themselves aren't terrible, but they are very much just snapshots rather than artistic representations, so bitching about having not used the right lens is a bit silly. The purpose was to document the event, not render thoughtful expressions of each car.

The reality is that even if the "right" lens had been used the lighting of the show would not be conducive to "professional" photography. Setting up lighting to do so would impede the show.

We have decided to go from taking a bazillion pics to a gazillion in 2017. If we won't take things to the next level, who will?
