Can YOU Name ANY Others? The BEST Automotive Interiors Of ALL TIME!
Much to the disgust of some of my fellow enthusiasts, I am an interior guy.

Sure, I love speed. Sure, I love ridiculous handling. And, I definitely love an aural experience. But, for me, a truly great vehicle also has a rewarding interior space.

After all, that's where we spend our time. We're not riding outside of these things.

Our friends across the pond at Autocar have decided to compile a list of autos that have special cockpits. Essentially, they cultivated this by breaking down the elements of the interior. For example, instrument panels, gear shifts, pedals, etc.

Aside from obvious leaders, like the McLaren F1, Rolls-Royce Phantom, Spyker C8 and others, can YOU think of any particular vehicles that have unbelievable interiors? Let us know in the comments below!

As enthusiasts, we spend our lives admiring the styling of cars.

We gaze at their shapely spoilers, drool over their curvaceous wings and stare at their plunging rooflines. But when we actually use cars for the purpose for which they were built, that’s not what we see at all. For every minute we spend looking at our car’s exterior, we spend hours, maybe even days, looking at its interior...

...This, then, is our tribute to some of the greatest interiors, and interior features, from a wide range of cars from today and yesterday – as well as just a few that, in often somewhat bizarre ways, failed quite spectacularly to come up to the mark. The list is nothing like exhaustive and you may have many ideas of your own. If so, we’d love to hear about them. In the meantime, however, welcome to the wonderful world of automotive interiors...

This isn't what you're looking for 00R, but...

VW Beetle Type I (sublimely simple)
1964.5-66 Mustang
1963-67 Sting Ray
1957 Cadillac Biarritz with the bar in the glove box
Ferrari Daytona (the audacity to have a dash so cobbled together looking in such a high priced car)
Lagonda (faux future ugliness...brilliant)
Jensen Interceptor

In this case -I would like Agent 00R to define what he means by "best interior" - is it style - is it materials - is it quality - is it ergonomics - or other. It would be hard to match a Rolls Royce or Bentley interior for quality - but they do not have the same level of new gadgets that others now do. Ergonomically - I have found Honda vehicles tend to have the "things" in the right places. My Mini-van - has a dash where the Speedometer and Tach are separated by quite a space for other information between them - and from far away - it is impossible to see all of the Tach or speedometer. So some cars you would consider to have wonderful interiors - I would not accept as so.

The fact is - being tall - an interior is - for me - useless unless I - at over 6"7" can get a comfortable position at the wheel. AND at least in one car - I also need the ability to have my MOM - who is just under 5' - to also get a good drivers position.(That works in my CT6) Cars that favor people with long legs - Italian cars tend to do this - are hard for people who do not have them. The introduction of movable pedals was something really nice - that did not catch on. Often in the past - I needed to add extenders to the pedals for mom - and that meant I would never be able to drive her car. Also - Tilt and Telescope is pretty much a necessity as well. I would also like - due to a gaggle of kids and grandkids - a useable rear seat - even when the drivers seat if all the way back. (I have actually remounted the front seat on some of my cars back a couple of inches to make enough room for me.) Most cars are really two or three seaters with me - since in most car - no one can fit behind me unless they have no legs - and I normally cannot fit a child seat behind me either.

So - I have seen some really nice interiors that simply do not pass muster for me owning the cars - at which time - how do I rate the cars interior when I will never be able to drive it?

The best interiors--really--are the ones that you don't have to think about to use and in which you immediately feel comfortable.
