Porsche 911 GT2: Turning Into Reality

Porsche 911 GT2: Turning Into Reality
Although Porsche still haven't confirmed production of the GT2, they haven't declined the rumours of it either. Here are the spy shots of upcoming "supercar" that could have 500BHP. It looks awesome and will be extremely fast!

The widowmaker is back, and spies say it's a symphony on wheels. The new-generation Porsche GT2, spotted on the Nürburgring recently, is the last to arrive (and most insane) of the 997-generation 911s. The rear-drive, weight-reducted beast -- carbon fiber et. al. -- is said to produce in the neighborhood of 500 hp. Who needs tuning shops when all that craziness rolls right out of the new Porsche Motorsports center in Weissach.

Can you say fly!

If the 997 911 Turbo can manage to run 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and has less than 450 horsepower, just imagine what this thign will do with reduced weight and 500 horsepower.

I'm betting 0-60 in under 3.5 seconds!

The turbo has 480 HP. Probably rear wheel drive and less weight because of it. I'm not sure it will be as quick or at least much quicker do to this.

The 911 Turbo has 480hp, as golfer38 mentioned.

The LAST-gen 996 Turbo, however, had 450hp.

I'm sure it wasn't, considering how the two über-911s are about 1/4 of the price of the Carrera GT.

However, a new Carrera GT is scheduled for 2009 or 2010.
