'The most extreme Bentley ever' teased
An all-new Continental GT is expected to break cover in the latter part of the year, but not before the current model goes out with a bang. In a short, but sweet teaser video released on social media channels, Bentley provides a glimpse of the car in question and says it will take the wraps off its most extreme model to date on January 6.

From what we are able to see so far, it will feature a fixed rear wing made from carbon fiber, along with tinted taillights, and a set of red brake calipers lurking behind massive wheels. Other noticeable features include hood vents also dipped in carbon fiber and a pair of chunky side skirts.

I much prefer the non-extreme, comfy, gorgeous, and luxurious Bentley.

My thinking is if I wanted extreme, I might go for a Lambo or a Ferrari, or if I had seriously deep pockets, a Pagani or the like.

Bentley does go to extreme's to drum up interest in its 12+ year old Continental/Flying Spur/Phaeton platform!

I have driven a 'normal' Bentley W12 and a Continental Speed. I can tell you that they all really feel about the same. Sure, they get slightly faster but you still feel you are piloting a 5,800 pound luxury car. I'm sure somebody will buy this version!

Question - I heard that Bugatti merely repurposed the Continental/Phaeton platform when they built the Bugatti Veyron - essentially turning everything around from front engine, AWD Bentley to the mid-engine AWD Bugatti.

Given Bugatti's low production numbers, perhaps it should be folded into the Bentley lineup? By the way, if you have a Bentley that can do 0-60 in under 4 seconds and top out way over 200MPG - why bother with a Bugatti?

My editor is still away for the holidays - perfect grammar/word usage shall re-commence on or about January 20.
