#NAIAS: BEST Pics Of The All-New Kia Stinger — What Is Your Favorite DETAIL?
From where I am sitting, it seems like Kia has come out swinging with the all-new Stinger. While we've been getting use to Kia's new, more European flavor a la Peter Schreyer, it's clear that it is in fully effect with the Stinger.
I am pretty sure there's no way you'd ever think this was a Korean automobile if you saw it parked on the street, badgeless.

's press release HERE!
In Agent 001's first set of real-life pictures of the all-new Stinger, I think that will become more clear to you. Look at the details and the way the overall design flows. It may be a bit fussy in some spots but there's one thing we cannot deny — it certainly is an interesting look.
You have to give it to Kia. It is a company taking bold steps to make itself known. It sure isn't pussyfooting around when it comes to evolving the brand.

This is a very nice looking car...(minus the fake hood and side scoops). If the driving dynamics/performance is there then this is a real threat to the Germans...especially among those who are buying/leasing lower trim/optioned 3 series/A4/C class as this will give them a lot more for their money. The only concern is the Kia brand as a lot of the lower end German cars are sold to people who are very brand conscious...they will take a stripped MB over a loaded Kia just to project a certain image.
It looks to me that they are trying to position Kia as a premium mainstream brand focusing on driving dynamics (a la VW) while letting Hyundai be the value proposition...this makes some sense rather than just having duplicitous lineups in both stores.

There, honestly, isn't anything that stands out to me. Well, I do like the rearview and how aggressive the stance looks.
But the hood vents, the Genesis-coupe headlights, the gawdy side vents, and the awkward rear red side strip serve to cheapen the look. If they had eliminated or changed those bits, this could really be a nice design.

I just realized that side vent looks like a king crab trying to escape out of the fender.

It's an Optima with Pep Boys tacky parts thrown on.

Who the hell is going to buy this car? First off it's called the Stinger??!!! WTF? Didn't Kia learn from the Dodge Darts of the world? Second there's nothing special about it - it looks like a four door Hyundai Genesis coupe with same twin turbo V6 as every other manufacturer - yawn... and like the Genesis sedan will not hold onto any resale value. The ONLY thing cool about it the hatch part.

It's gorgeous in blue. I can't wait to see it in person.

Reminds me of the old Mazda 626 Sporthatch.
Gen 2 of this car will be hot when Kia redesigns the rear quarter. The rear fascia and quarter are not best looking design(s) out there.
