#NAIAS: Is It ME Or Is There Something OFF About The All-New Kia Stinger's INTERIOR?
While it's very easy to get distracted by the all-new Kia Stinger's exterior, you all cannot forget what I'd argue is the most important element of any car. The interior.

Seeing as Kia has most definitely been upping its game on the outside, it only makes sense that the cabin complement this ever-changing evolution. That means better materials and switchgear that gives a Kia a more rewarding experience.

That said, when I start taking a close look at the all-new Stinger's interior, I am a bit confused. There's a reason for this. It seems to be a mish mosh of parts, new and old.

Is it me or is something off about the Kia Stinger's interior? The best way I can describe it is the cockpit doesn't look cohesive in terms of design. From the door handles, to the instrument panel to the center stack's HVAC venting.

What say you, Spies?

I agree. It almost has a feeling of being incomplete, like a, "ok, that's good enough, we got to get it to production" feel.

Also, the center stack and upper dash are a knock-off of the MD design. But the side vents are not round, oops. Although it is hard to discern until you actually sit in it, it does look discombobulated.

I think its the round center vents and square side ones that makes things look odd...they should pick one shape and stick with it.

If they put 2 center stack vents similar in-shape to the side vents, that probably would add a bit more cohesiveness to the front interior design.

Is this a big/important model for Kia? The impression I get from the media materials make it sound like this is a breakthrough model (image and market presence) but in my mind, it just looks like a decked out Optima, no more no less. Same sentiment about the interior pictures shown here, looks fine and good but not "wow" I guess.

Agreed. Seems like the next Optima design b/c the current Optima today is...yuck.

The big eyesore is KIA at the center of the steering wheel. While most other companies have distinctive logos - most if not all have symmetry and meaning. To use KIA for a logo will not bring KIA anywhere upscale.

To some extent, I can't get used to the slanted Hyundai logo either.

And what's with red leather on the show cars ? KIA and Camry ?

The big swath of black across the center of the dashboard does it no favors.

This ia a big model for Kia because they want to position Kia as a value performance brand. This really doesn't have much to do with an Optima (besides size) as it is a rear drive performance vehicle....I haven't read any test reviews yet so not sure how the driving dynamics are.

So I'm curious, how does this impact Hyundai's upcoming "N" division?
