Lexus Readies UX For Production - Extended Wheelbase RX Will Target Range Rover

The Lexus UX is on its way as a production car, patent files have shown.

A new entry-level SUV based on the Paris motor show’s UX concept, which will share the same name, will replace the CT hatchback in the Lexus range, with a small SUV which will sit underneath the RX and NX SUVs.

Patents have been filed for a range of variants under the UX name, including the UX200, UX250 and UX250h. The small numbers signify the nature of the engine, and are of a similar range to the CT200h.

The 2017 Detroit Auto Show photo galleries are sponsored by Lexus.

It may just be possible that the Pontiac Aztec will lose its title as the worst looking vehicle every produced. Another award for Toyota!

We may be bad looking - but we will remind of that forever.

Tom, one has to wonder if the Aztec had appeared wearing a Toyota badge instead of Pontiac, if it would have sold much better. Lots of folks will buy anything Toyota makes, regardless of what it looks like. Aztec; the ultimate appliance, way ahead of its time.

The Aztek already lost it to the Acura ZDX and then the Juke took the top spot.

The same assessments of the current RAV, which now is very successful.
Funny, GM was trying to copy the styling of the Vibe (Matrix) and screwed it up with the Aztec.

Of course it's going to be a toned-down version of it, so everybody please calm down. Also, why is it so bad that a few car companies be trying something different (or even outrageous) if you are not obliged to buy it?
Look at the Koreans (and the Americans sometimes) just copying and blending from other marques with more guts to do things.

Lexless should call this the "LSD Crossover" since that how cars look when hallucinating on drugs.
