#NAIAS: BOLD And BRASH, The All-New Infiniti QX50 Concept Shows Us What's In Store — See The Real-Life Shots Now!
In recent years we've been keeping an eye on Nissan's luxury division, Infiniti. While the company made waves when it came onto the scene, and into the 2000s with the much loved G35 and G37, it seemed to flounder into the 2010s.
What happened?

Infiniti QX50

I'll tell you what happened. Poor products and even lousier planning. From what we can see though, it appears a renaissance may be on the way. With the Q50, Q60 and QX30, the company appears to be putting the pedal to the metal to right its wrongs.
Next up? That would be the long overdue FX replacement. Shown in concept form as the QX50, I have to say it appears mighty impressive, inside and out. The design is tight and it's bold. Something that should strike a chord with today's buyers who are looking to stand out and command presence.
What do you make of these real-life pics, Spies?

There's always something (or many things) about Infiniti that visually puts me off in a big way.
- Seemingly arbitrary stylistic swoops all over the place
- Mattress-top button tuck upholstery everywhere
- Overly-stylized headlights that look like Audi's problem
- A face that looks wrong, on so many levels
I know these are just *my* 100% subjective interpretations, and not "what is", but does Infiniti actually inspire anyone to get excited and feel "This is gorgeous!"?

Totally agree. And ditto for the visual assaults coming from the folks at Lexus/Toyota.

I agree with your observations, although I do like the interior save for the matress-like elements.
There is a hard line just under the side windows from the front fender to the upturn swoop of the rear fender that is just like the Q50 sedan and the new Lexus 500 LS. I like the new Lexus, but Infinti and Lexus have the same design elements save for the BIG grill.
Also, those are the Audi headlights.

So, this will try to steal sales from the GLC, X3, Q5, RX, and RDX? Good luck with that.

I think it looks pretty good. Not a fan of the "Charmin" looking seats (if they decide to go with that toilet paper look). Also the brown exterior and interior color make it look drab. I noticed BMW did this brown on the interior of their new 5 series. What's with that turd color brown on these concept cars??
