2018 Toyota Supra To Be Released Under The Gazoo Performance Brand

Toyota will launch its 2018 Supra under the name of its newly launched road performance arm, Gazoo.

The boss of Gazoo Racing, Koei Saga, told Autocar at the Monte Carlo Rally, where Toyota was fielding its new Yaris WRC cars, that producing such a halo hybrid model was a 'dream' of his. He also suggested that Gazoo’s road car team was already making use of the brand’s racing hybrid powertrain technology.

Saga refrained from revealing what Gazoo’s range-topping model would be, but earlier inside information has suggested that the Supra was already planned to be launched under the Gazoo moniker. Whether or not this will be as the Gazoo Supra or Toyota Supra Gazoo isn't yet known.

How could they possibly use a Flintstones character as a brand name? Toyota finally makes a good looking car without a hideous front end and they wreck it with a comical name.

I don't know if the word "Gazoo" has a significant meaning in Japanese...but in English it sounds like a joke, if they want to use a performance sub-brand why not TRD?

If they release it as a Gazoo in the USA it will get laughed back to Japan. If this it priced right, it needs to be a Toyota, but if it's expensive, it needs to be a Lexus. Gazoo googles back to a laughable-at-best cartoon and sounds worse than Nismo which sounds like a condition for someone not getting enough sex.

"What's his ailment?"

"He ain't gettin' sex, yo! He nismo."

The rear looks like a Frankenstein Corvette.
