SOUND OFF: If Martha Stewart Designed her Own Car Who Would Build It?

I've been around long enough were very little surprises me, but this story did...

There is rumor circulating that Martha Stewart might be interested in adding automotive styling to her artistic portfolio. So is this a good thing?

I'm sure some marketing whiz within some car company will pick up this idea and run with it. So, if it were to happen, which vehicle would likely get Martha's creative blessing? She loves her Suburban, but I'm not so sure a Martha Stewart-Edtion Suburban will sit too well with the boat-pulling crowd. There's already a Mary Kay-Edition Cadillac, so I would think that's out too. What about Lincoln, as they've done designer editions before? Perhaps a MSE Navigator? If Lincoln is a bit too upscale for the Martha image, what about Chrysler?

How about a Martha Stewart-Chrysler Trifecta? MSEs of the Chrysler Aspen, Pacifica and Town & Country? Better still, how about a Martha Stewart "Gangsta' Edition" of the 300C? Hmmm...

Well if Audi Built it she would need the Pledge for all of the wood trim.

I believe any domestic (GM, Ford) would gladly build Martha's ride as Martha Stewart is the "definitive American woman" as they say. It would have to be large enough to fit lots of stuff if you plan on "entertaining". It would also have to be a comfy ride to get to and from courthouse appearances for insider trading charges. I probably say Cadillac would jump on this one just as they did for Mary Kay's pink ride. Maybe a plaid Escalade...

If Martha Stewart designed a car a company with failing buisness would need to adopt it. This basically rules out Toyota, Honda, and BMW.

My best guess is that no one will build it. Why, it is not very smart to offer products only to a certain group (well actually to make a product solely for women). Like Mercury - I believe no sensible guy would want Mercury because it is always pushing for women audiences. So a car like this will close its doors for all men (as it would be girly for a guy to buy it) and to women who don't want to be grouped as that. Only a stupid company like Ford will be willing to build it (don't ask me why Ford is stupid - there are several articles on the internet, and also the sales of the Ranger).

Must have alloy forged fender just in case if she decided to ram into neighboor's door again.

Can you imagine the interior with Martha Stewart product lines? The sheet cover, pillow and leather steering wheel cover... It's like prision inside.
