2018 Ford Edge – New Badge | Badge still up in the air | Some predictions and rumors about new Edge
The Edge is Ford’s two-row mid-size crossover which has been released a couple of years ago. The car directly competes with the Grand Cherokee and the Touareg, two of its fiercest rivals. Even though it is currently being outsold by the two, the Edge is actually a really good car. The only real grief with it has been the quality inside the cabin which did let some people down. However, not that long ago rumors started to surface around the internet about an update. It seems that the upcoming 2018 Ford Edge won’t be just a mild refresh by Ford.

Many people seem to think that the 2018 model will also bring some changes to its powertrain, likely a new look and even a better interior. The latter was the main problem so if they manage to offer something remotely interesting then Ford is going to have a winner on their hands.

The Edge is a success with 150K units in North America. It is a niche crossover for people who want more than an Escape but not the massiveness of the Explorer.

It's doing just fine.

A Shelby Edge could be lovely.

If the Edge exterior was kinda like a 3/4ths version of the Explorer, then it would make sense in the lineup & probably be more competitive. Today, the exterior design is dated (though updated) but it's still old. Not to say the Grand Chke isn't OLD too. The Escape still is a little quirky in design but really descent. And the Sport versions of both a content-loaded & plenty powerful on the street & highway.

I loved the "vague" steering of my 2015 V6 SEL, so I just got a 2018 (same model). Well, no more vague steering for sure, as it seems to require more effort at low speeds Did they change the steering (or anything else) in the 2018 V6 SEL? Research shows that they did change the steering rack part number in September 2017, but they often change part numbers, so that may or not be it. What do you know?
