If Money Was No Object, Which Would You Rather Have, The Audi Q8 Or The Bentley Bentayga?

If Money Was No Object, Which Would You Rather Have, The Audi Q8 Or The Bentley Bentayga?
It’s been interesting watching the Audi Q8 Concept evolve as the time passes. Originally revealed a few months ago at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, the Q8 has been a technological powerhouse of a vehicle, featuring a hybrid drivetrain to help it remain powerful but efficient and donning a massive grille to look the part. This time around, Audi has updated its concept car for Geneva, making amendments to the drivetrain and vehicle aesthetics, which we hope will make it to the final production model.

If I were forced to choose between the two, I'd pick the Audi, but both are disgusting looking.

Why care what they look like - as long as the Bentley had a great Back seat - and is Luxurious inside - the Chauffeur can worry about the outside of the car. This is where the Bentley is a clear winner - an AUDI does not evoke the same "elan" even with a driver.

I'd take the Bentley because it would fetch more money when I sold it. Take that, Matt ;-)

I will choose not to decide... :)

There are those who think that life
Has nothing left to chance
A host of holy horrors
To direct our aimless dance
A planet of playthings
We dance on the strings
Of powers we cannot perceive
The stars aren't aligned
Or the gods are malign
Blame is better to give than receive
You can choose a ready guide
In some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide
You still have made a choice
You can choose from phantom fears
And kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose free will
There are those who think that
They've been dealt a losing hand
The cards were stacked against them
They weren't born in Lotus-Land
All preordained
A prisoner in chains
A victim of venomous fate
Kicked in the face
You can't pray for a place
In heaven's unearthly estate
You can choose a ready guide
In some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide
You still have made a choice
You can choose from phantom fears
And kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose free will
Each of us
A cell of awareness
Imperfect and incomplete
Genetic blends
With uncertain ends
On a fortune hunt
That's far too fleet
You can choose a ready guide
In some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide
You still have made a choice
You can choose from phantom fears
And kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose free will

These abominations are extensions of the Hummer madness that prevailed in the 00's. Ostentatious beyond belief; a total disregard for the earth's limited resources - and more vulgar than impressive - these vehicles serve no purpose other than to impress.

What's the point?

Kind of a strange question - seeing as they Q8 will be about 1/3 the cost of the Bentayga.

I got my Bentley GTC serviced this weekend (Bentley Long Island) and I checked out the Bentayga and the Flying Spur. I learned that Bentley is (quietly) no longer offering the Flying Spur sedan for sale in the US and that there will be about 2-3 years without a traditional 4-door limo/sedan on offer.

Instead, the salesman told me that they are steering the sedan customers to the Bentayga (mostly trade-ins/lease returns of older Flying Spurs), so I guess that's their strategy for moving the Bentayga. He said that sales were going OK and I am actually starting to see them around the NYC area.

Q8/Bentayga are not for me, but I guess they are basically the same car/SUV under the skin so the question is sort of a curious one.

If somebody else paying - take the Bentayga.
If you are paying - get a cheap lease on the Q8.

I love when people say "on offer" as opposed to "for sale".

One of my grandfathers is smitten with the Bentiguan and wants me to go with him to pick one out. I'll have to take my anti-nausea pills.

Today the vehicles are more efficient than the old vehicles with more effective body, custom painting and attractive colors. http://www.classicautobody.com/

And dramatically more expensive and trouble prone.

Neither, but if you force me, I'd take the Bentley and sell it to buy some great cars.

Both look like stationwagons on big wheels... toss a coin probably, makes no difference.
