Aston Martin Plans ANOTHER Mid-Engine Model To Take On The Ferrari 488 GTB
Aston Martin is planning a new mid-engined supercar to launch in 2021 as a rival to the McLaren 720S and Ferrari 488 GTB. It will be the second mid-engined Aston model, following the limited-edition Valkyrie hypercar, due in 2019.

Aston boss Andy Palmer said the launch of the Valkyrie (pictured below), the name of which was confirmed at the Geneva motor show, was important in establishing Aston as a credible maker of mid-engined models.

Astons should be front-engined, RWD cruisers.

I don't think diversification to ride out economic up's and down's in key markets warrants yet another sports car for their lineup. An SUV while distasteful will sell. A small one and a bigger one should appear. Maybe a shooting brake etc. Smaller sedan perhaps. If I was on the board they would stick with the 3 sports models. In this day I am not sure I would have launched the DB11 with a V12. Not really part of the brand. 4.0L V8 would suffice. Vantage could use a 3.5L V6. Twin turbo's would allow upwards of 700hp as shown by McLaren. 6 and 8 cyl engines have ties to historic models too. Likely better fuel efficiency than the V12 too.

please..Aston is working on fumes, they don't have the money to develop this or any other car that isn't co-oped from Mercedes DOA...just BS PR to keep Andy Palmer employed.

Mercedes will absorb them through dependence. Aston will be dependent on Mercedes and then wham...Mercedes owns Aston.
