CONFIRMED: Lexus' All-New UX Is Given The GREEN Light — What Would YOU Change For Production?
Making its debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, Lexus showed off an all-new, rugged concept. Dubbed the UX, it definitely takes the rather edgy styling the brand's employed as of late and dials it up to 11.

Seriously, this thing is quite unlike any Lexus we've seen before.

It's brute-ish, it's brash and it certainly commands a presence. If you ask us it seems to be aiming squarely at the likes of the Jeep Wrangler with its large wheel and tires, and plastic fenders.

According to an interview that happened at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, we're in for a treat too. That's because a global Lexus executive vice president has confirmed that the UX has been given the green light and we will be seeing it come to life. Soon.

Could its big-time, production debut come at the 2017 New York Auto Show (NYIAS)? Something tells us to keep your eyes peeled...

Speaking to motoring.com.au at the Geneva motor show overnight, Lexus International executive vice president Yoshihiro Sawa confirmed a road-going version of the wild 2016 Paris show star was on its way.

Sawa described the vehicle as an important part of the Toyota-owned luxury brand’s plan to chase younger buyers.

“We are doing [UX],” he said. “Please expect UX, it’s not so far away..."

Tone the side detailing the hell down.

Hit it with an ugly stick a few more times. Maybe it will help...

This thing is pretty hideous, but the production model will look like a scaled down NX.

I wouldn't change much - just the Front - Sides - and Rear - the proportions, the whole roof - and the interior. However the Lexus "L" emblem could stay the same!

Simply stated: this is automotive vomit.

The scary thing is that it would probably sell quite well as is. It's too "out there" and blingy for me, but shallow people will adore it.

I gotta admit, the headlights look nice, as do the rims (unique) and roof rails (very sleek).
Lexsux needs to now design a nice looking car/suv with those components.

I am surprised by all the negative comments here, but I saw that vehicle at NAIIS and that vehicle and the Falcon F7 (http://www.carscoops.com/2012/01/falcon-f7-is-225000-hand-built-supercar.html) were the ONLY two cars that really caught my attention at the show. The F7's interior was simply gorgeous with exposed carbon fiber and jeweled gauges, but still more conventional.

On the other hand, just about everything about that Lexus as I saw in it person really challenges per-conceived notions of styling and proportions. I couldn't believe the way that the sides of the body seemed to shift shape and colors as it spun on it's platform. Pictures do not do it justice. In this age where everyone styles a 'safe' cross over, the lines are so blurred between vehicles that it's getting hard to tell the difference between a $60-70k Jag and $18K Hayndai and a $40K Buick crossover. Guarantee the interior won't make production, but the surface on this was amazing. Can't see the grill or the side vents in the lower front fascia making it either, so undoubtedly it will be toned down. But it will stand out in sea the same old boring copy-cat designs, very much like the original little Toyota MR2 did back in the 1990's.

Like it, looks very Mad Max, hope they put a nice engine in there, or make it electric!

Every time I look at this turd burger abomination I feel like I'm tripping on brown acid but I am sober (for right now) and this thing is coyote arm fugly. If this is the future of automotive design language, then let me rip my eyes out now and spare me the misery. Now where did I put my blotters?

Well, you can't say it's bland and subdued like most of their cars lol. Seems like a massive overcompensation.

How exactly are the RC, LC, and LS subdued and bland?
