What Was The Car You IDOLIZED In High School? Does It STILL Hold A Special Place In Your Heart Today?
Thinking back to my high school years, it's pretty hard to believe what I thought was cool. Ah, to be young and stupid.

But, there's at least one thing I got right. That would be my love for the Ferrari F355.

Although it's not even close to being the most rare or special Ferrari, to me it means the world. It was one of the first vehicles that really made me understand that driving wasn't about putting down the fastest times. It was about the experience and, most importantly, the way it made you feel. When you're not a Formula 1 racer, tenths of a second don't really matter.

Having said that, Agent 001 and our likeminded enthusiasts tend to think of those older days and those cars that did make our heart tick. For me there's no question that it still holds a special place in my heart and I hope at some point in my life I can put one in my garage — even if its maintenance is truly insane.

So, we're curious: Was there a vehicle that you IDOLIZED in high school that still holds a special place in your heart? Let us know in the comments below.

The Ferrari F355 is my favorite Ferrari... almost. I drove this 1997 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta to explain exactly what I mean.

When I was in high school, customized vans with a bed and a fridge in the back and an airbrushed mural on the side were all the rage. Yeah, I'm not kidding :-/ Weird times, indeed.

I didn't idolize any cars, but I had a motorcycle that got me into some trouble, though.

My first car will always hold a special place. 1963 Impala SS with a 327 Corvette engine, 4 speed T-10 with Hurst shifter, tuck and roll interior. It was only 7 years old when I got it for $400 in great condition. Great memories, but I know if I drove it today I'd think it was a bloated tank.

When I was 14, I sat in a Jensen Interceptor at a cars and coffee kind of event and was smitten. I don't own one, but I have easy access to one and it is simply a wonderful cruiser.

I wish I could buy back my frozen in time 1990 Acura Integra GS 5-speed.

The frozen in time part is very important because it was already starting to rust in 1994 when I sold it. Delightful car though with lots of fond memories.

The Gullwing 1955 Mercedes 300SL was the car - still is something special I will never be able to afford. (Seems I am a little older than most here)

Tom, you are not older than everybody here. In high school, I had a 1955 Chevrolet and dreamt of the Mercedes 300SL and Jaguar D-Type. Today, I still believe they are the two most beautiful post war cars built.

Mitsubishi hates performance. They killed the 3000GT. Granted it sold poorly because it was so overpriced, but still. Then they destroyed the Eclipse. Finally, they killed one of the storied names in automotive history: the Evo.
