DRIVEN + VIDEO: Is The All-New Honda CR-V A STUD or DUD To Live With Daily?
One of the best selling sport-utility vehicles is the Honda CR-V. Say what you will about its previous generations design or driving dynamics, the car sold a lot of units.

All-new for 2017, I have to say that I like its design. I know I am in the minority as our commenters have made it clear that the all-new look isn't for everyone.

But, what is it really like?

I recently had the chance to get some wheel time and I will tell you now it's yet another sign that Honda has cleaned up its previously strewn act. The CR-V is impressive. And when I compare it to the experience I had in the RAV4, it easily blows that vehicle out of the water. Its ride is better, its ergonomics are better and its interior is, you guessed it, better.

There are some down sides but I'll keep that for my review.

Until then you can check out Kelley Blue Book's thoughts on the all-new CR-V. Their presenter is an owner of a CR-V, so, you should already have an idea of where this is going. Scope out the clip below.

If you're looking for a no-fuss compact SUV that has a sterling reputation for reliability, practicality and value, the Honda CR-V will fit your life like a glove.

If you can put up with the ugliness of its styling, it's a reasonable purchase. The only problem is that there are other crossovers that are much better looking and are as virtuous as the CRV.

The CR-V will continue to dominate this segment. There are no other automakers stepping up to offer anything comparable at the moment. Honda is definitely on a roll with the redesign of the Civic, Pilot, and now CR-V. Now the Accord will need to be just as good as Toyota finally brought it's A game with the redesign of the Camry.

Bullshit: "There are no other automakers stepping up to offer anything comparable at the moment."

Truth: They all are offering comparable and in some ways better choices.

Whoa—Hondas are getting Toyota ugly!

No wonder the CRV is so ugly. If it was shooting toward the Nissan Morono's (sic) ugliness, it succeeded.

LOL. The CR-V looks fine, the best in the segment. While others are cleaner designs, they are also boring and forgettable. The CR-V runs the risk of being a bit garish, especially the rear, but it's still tasteful. Honda could easily have run amok with the design, ala Civic Type-R. And we certainly don't need/want junior versions of the RX or Murano.

Hopefully the CRV will not have the redesign issues that the Civic is having. I would hold off until the new RAV is out (2018). That would give time to see if the CRV is having issues, and to see if Toyota's new platform and engines best the Honda.
