SPIED: BEST Spy Shots Of The Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Here — FIRST Interior Pic REVEAL A Lot!
To Agent 001 and I it's amazing how well the refreshed Mercedes-Benz ML — now GLE-Class — is selling. They're everywhere!

There's two reasons for this: First off, it is quite a dated chassis. Two, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a much better buy for the money. I've been saying this since I drove the then all-new Grand Cherokee back in I think 2010. And, 001 is in total agreement now that he owns a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk.

I can't tell you how many times I've had a call with the man, the myth and the legend, and his mind is blown by how great the Jeep is.

But there is an all-new generation GLE on the way. And, to be honest, we're expecting more big things from it. That's because it is a volume seller, sport-utility vehicles are all the craze right now and it's clearly going to inherit its siblings' technology.

Just look at the spy shots.

See its interior with the large, dual display? Recall it is an E-Class, so, we're going to hazard an educated guess and assume it will benefit from the same autonomous technology found in the E-Class sedan.

Aside from the interior and tech though, take a moment to absorb its exterior design. Note it's a softer take on the current-gen product. It won't be a revolution but rather than an evolution.

What's your initial impression, Spies? Let us know in the comments below!

Talk about negative energy.

First spy shot further confirming MB's commitment to the dual display. That is exciting! And, considering Mercedes is killing it, perhaps other luxury players should take notice...

The current GLE is the one to beat--I think--between it, the X5, Q7, and the XC90 so a new Mercedes will only make that leadership stronger.

Agree with 009 and 001. The Jeep GC, especially the top models, will still be a better value with far more equipment, electronics, better sound system, etc. for less $. The GLE, X5, Q7, XC90, not mention the Jags and LRs all end up in the high $60K to $70Ks+ price range while a fully loaded GC is in the mid to high $50K range. It is hard to beat. This GLE looks like an face lift of the current version.

The current GLE is by far the most dated, least compelling vehicle in its class. The fact that it still sells so well is a testament to the power of the Mercedes badge. If the worst vehicle in the segment can sell that well, I expect more of the same when the new one comes out that's actually competitive.

The render looks good enough. Hard to differentiate it from a Ford Explorer at first glance.

The GLE still sells well for many reasons. Its still the highest quality vehicle in its class. Even though its in the last year in current form, i will still be purchasing one for my wife with all the features. Looked at Audi, Volvo, Jag, BMW, GMC and all the rest mentioned. Still the best built vehicle in its class even though it might not be the most modern or technically advanced. Im not particularly excited about the new one, it seems to be an enlarged GLC, while nice, not a game changer. Ill take a loaded 2017 GLE with a nice discount.
