Faraday Future Cancels Plans For California Assembly Plant

Faraday Future, the would-be Tesla rival facing well-documented challenges in terms of capitalization and efforts to bring its first production vehicle to market, has scrapped plans to construct an assembly facility and “experience center” (read: showroom) in Vallejo, California on Mare Island. The car maker had already secured a negotiating agreement with the Vallejo city council regarding the site, but the company has been scaling back some of its ambitions in the interest of protecting its core interests.

Faraday’s planned North Bay site would’ve been its second assembly plant, intended to begin operation sometime after its Nevada factory maximized its own production capacity. The Nevada plant has faced its own challenges, after the 3 million-square-foot, $1 billion facility saw work stop on its construction late last year due to contractor non-payment. The Nevada facility plans have been reset, with a more modest 650,000- square-foot facility planned for completion sometime this fall. Faraday says it’ll resume work on this Vegas facility shortly.

They should avoid California at all costs. My company is pulling all noesential operations out of the state. Labor and tax laws are terrible for running a business. And the worker mentality there does not drive performance.

"And the worker mentality there does not drive performance." - Seriously ??

Vallejo is a stone's throw from Silicon Valley. It may not be the headquarters of big name companies but it shares the same labor pool and the hard working mentality of the Bay Area people. I guess you have been snoozing the last 20+ years to miss that.

I know, the non performance driving worker mentality is really bogging California down to being the only 6th largest economy in the world. And that's with all those damn illegal rapists in tax-sucking sanctuary cities too interacting with the freaking moonbeams (or is it snowflakes). Maybe those Californians breathing the clean air being forced on them by the useless EPA is what's making them so lazy. Friggin unAmericans I tell you.

Can you imagine what California would be like if it did not have the Democrats in Sacramento trying to destroy the state? There would not be a yearly fiscal crisis. Schools would have adequate funding. Roads would not have potholes. The Oroville Dam would not have teetered on the brink of disaster. California has a poweerhouse economy, but the money is funneled into welfare, welfare, and more welfare.

Below is a link with a picture of Kern River Oil Field in Bakersfield. This is Kern County CA with all the strict CARB and EPA rules.

Yeah imagine when Trump and the oil industry have their way with destroying the environment. You'll be drinking the water mixed with petroleum waste and inhaling the air filled with smog and cow manure dust.

For those not familiar with Bakersfield CA, it has one of the dirtiest air in the country - sharing the honors with cities like Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, ...

According to the American Lung Association 2015 ranking (link below), California cities dominate the list of cities with poor air quality. Imagine California without those Democrats and their strict environmental rules ?

Matty lives in Bakersfield, that explains his mental retardation and bullying tendencies. Not surprising, MethHeadMatty also lives in the Meth Capital of California.

absolutely correct Henry, California wouldn't even be visible without all the regulations on air quality... smog, smaze and haze control and the waterways would be disgusting without CERCLA and CEQA...Now if this creep MDarringer would stop using all of his aliases to stop up-voting his stupid, asinine and nonsensical responses and stop down-voting everybody who shows him to be the intellectual dolt he proves himself to be..a "Trumpette" empty-headed Russia loving psycho.
