Test Drive: BMW 335i Coupe

Since its launch in 1975 the reassuringly expensive BMW 3 Series has become the motoring icon of corporate greed – the middle manager’s chariot of choice. As integral a part of the upscale lifestyle as an espresso machine and exotic holidays, it is a cultural phenomenon and the new 335i Coupe should secure entry into folklore.

Most business-class custodians that restrict their journeys to our motorway system will simply never understand how good their car is. The real core virtues of the middle managers’ outside lane pounder of choice will simply stay a secret, well hidden behind the traction control button and comfy leather seats.

But inside this fifth generation 3 Series, beneath the gentile veneer, there’s a top sportscar just waiting to show a clean pair of heels to anything in its class and a good few besides.

Bavarian Motor Works has a looker on their hands with this one. When you throw in in 3.0 liter Biturbo I6 it's simply irresistible. Gaw'd I can't wait for the M3.

Only 300hp from a TT inline 6 with today's technology,boo!!Toyota's 2JZ-GTE back in 1993 with the same engine setup 3.0 TT inline 6 had 320hp Hmmm!
We all know that the 2JZ-GTE can handle 1000hp with a stock block.it goes to show you that if Toyota wanted to develop an engine for Lexus to kill the M3 it would!!

i think it is a british article, and most people who buy 3 series' here are boring badge-whores, with a 318 that makes them cool, of course.
it's exactly the same for audis and mercedes though, but bmw drivers are the most hated and viewed as the least nice and most arrogant, and most likely to be talking on the phone while driving or jump lights or speed etc.
not saying it's true though ;)
