Sentra Much Improved But Appears Dated

Sentra Much Improved But Appears Dated
Without badging, casual observers would be hard-pressed to guess the car being test-driven here in mid-August hails from Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.

Isn’t this the auto maker that clawed its way back to profitability and acclaim with bold, eye-catching styling, evident on the current-generation Altima and Infiniti G35?

Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s global design chief who has risen to rock-star status in the auto industry, eschews the angular design language taking hold these days. He prefers sinuous, graceful lines.

But the rounded, jellybean-like styling of the new, sixth-generation Nissan Sentra, developed exclusively for North America, dates the car before it even goes on sale.

Car looks terrible...even worse than the last generation.

Looks like an Altima and a Prius had a baby.

There is an over-reliance on the basic architecture that produced the last generation Maxima. Nissan adopted it for the G35, then the Altima, stretched it out a little bit for the M35/45, revised it again for the Maxima and '07 G35 and now, this. No originality. This car is DOA.

Actually the G35 is based on a another platform. I got corrected on that a while ago.

The interior is actually well-appointed. Keyless start, Bluetooth, and leather are all options.

It ain't pretty, but I would buy one!!! Nissan's are very reliable cars. At least they're not copying all the designs from the competitors, unlike Hyundai

I'd rather buy a Honda or Mazda or VW, regardless of leather seats or Bluetooth.

Which I believe are both available on the Rabbit.

The lines are way too heavy and vault-like for the size of the car.

I know that the ser and spec v version will be more of an excitement to some. But nissan will later debut a two door version later in 2007.Pictures does not do this car any justice. You would have to see it up close and in person.

Every year the Oxford Dictionary adds new words to the ever growing English Language. Here's a new one for them for 2007 >

Nugly adj. - The appearance of an object that is beyond ugly. Root words: Nissan and ugly

This car could have DVD nav, laser cruise, xenon, and could get 40 mpg......but it looks so ugly....oops sorry nugly

It makes the Dodge Caliber look svelte by comparison.

On my previous comment, I said I would buy the new Nissan Sentra, but I've change my mind!! I cannot believe it! That thing does not even have rear disc brakes, and there is some other stuff that I rather not have. Well...what can I say!! I would rather buy a Dodge Caliber SRT!!!
