Do You Think The 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir Is Good Enough Take On The Audi Q7?
The first generation Buick Enclave three-row crossover was a smashing success, but it’s been on the market since 2008. Fortunately, Buick has just revealed the all-new 2018 Enclave at the New York Auto Show, as well as its new Avenir sub-brand. Conveniently enough, what you’re looking at is the Enclave Avenir, a supposed step up from the standard trims thanks to unique styling cues, premium materials throughout, and an even greater list of standard luxury features. Let’s start with the new Enclave itself.

I'd have to see it in person to answer that question.

who makes up these stupid headlines ? Audi Q7 is in a whole different league, nowhere near this - this just looks like a rebadged Chevy or GMC

This would be like saying "Do you think the Ford Focus is Good Enough to take on the BMW 3 Series". While I think the new Enclave is a home run for styling, I don't see much cross shopping going on. Badge snobs will buy the Audi and people with brains will buy the Buick. The latter will be much happier with their choice.

That depends on what YOU mean by "Take on".
If you are talking about US sales or China sales - the Buick will clearly do so. However - in Europe - they don't even sell Buicks. This vehicle is a "looker" in person.

If you are talking about 4x4 capability - then the Audi is likely better.

If Buick's aspirations are to take on the Q7, then it needs to stop looking like a Chevy Traverse. Complete step backwards in my opinion from the outgoing Enclave which actually looked the part of a luxury brand SUV.

Does it need to? I thought that's what Cadillac was for.

And Cadillac is getting its own version of the Traverse too.

It will outsell the Q7 in the markets in which the two compete. However if it is at the same price points at the Q7 it will be a non-starter. The enclave simply does not have the in cabin tech (i.e. virtual cockpit) driving dynamics, performance or brand prestige that the Q7 has. Where the enclave can definitely compete is against the Infiniti QX60, Acura MDX and the upcoming extended Lexus RX especially if the price comes in a little lower than those models..

The entire segment already beats the Atlas. LOL Unfortunately for VW dealers, the Atlas will likely be priced like a Buick even though the brand name carries as much panache as Mitsubishi.

Sorry but not this year , the quality in and out is not comparison at all with the Q7 , and not to mention the technology and driving characteristic. I notice something , the more time they need to be in the same league to German the harder , because Germans always show up new tech , new design, high quality and all of this is like five years a head or generations so when they going to match will see ,but one thing is true they are trying.

The Buick will likely have far better reliability.

This is a ridiculous question. The Buick is not targeted at the Q7. This is another attempt from AutoSpies to make GM look like it failed. They are nowhere near the same price point. How about the question does the Q7 have what it takes to compete with the Bentley SUV? Hey, does the Hyundai Elantra have what it takes to compete against the Audi S3? Does the Honda Pilot have what it takes to compete against the Land Rover Range Rover?
This and other meaningless questions answered soon in AutoSpies.
