Audi Q8 And Q4 Productions Plans Announced
Audi has just confirmed two new SUVs will join its lineup. Not that we weren’t aware of that fact, but we are finally hearing official words from the German brand.

One of the new additions will be the flagship Q8 coupe-SUV that we spied testing on the Nurburgring twice last week. It’s going to be roughly the same in size as the Q7, but will sit lower to the ground and will have a sloped roof line. It’s scheduled to enter production phase next year in Bratislava, Slovakia, where also the Q7 is assembled. Sales are expected to start in early next year.

Do we really need something bigger than the Q7, or is this just another way to extract more money from consumers, if possible?

Ditto with a Q4: Why? For those folk for whom a Q5 is too much and Q3 is too little? Because the number 4 was available in the Q series? Will a Q3.5 then be introduced to fill the "gap" between the Q3 and Q4? (Sigh)

In a way, this reminds me of BMW's 4-series, which seems to be a thinly-veiled ploy to get more money out of the 3-series by assigning it a higher number. After all, a bigger number means a pricier car. Right?

Audi needs a competitor to the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and BMW X6. The Q8 is that competitor.

For a few years it seemed like Audi had come up with a very appealing and distinctive front end design, but this current evolution is so hideous I wouldn't even consider owning one.
