Mexican Engineers Show Up In A BIG Way For Tesla's Major Recruiting Event In Monterrey
Engineers from across Mexico streamed into a cramped hotel lobby in the industrial city of Monterrey for a chance of a job with the U.S. electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc, which is looking south of the border for talent in short supply at home…

…Tesla, which prides itself on its "Made in America" credentials, had scheduled interviews with an unknown number of Mexican candidates on Friday and was slated to screen other prospective employees over the weekend at the closed-door event…

…”Tesla is an innovative company, it's offering the future of mobility," said the engineer, who like almost all those consulted by Reuters asked not to be named so as to not jeopardize their chances with the prospective employer…

Yet another bad piece of writing on this site. The Tesla event was in Monterrey, MEXICO. (Not Monterey, California).

mdarringer and Agent009 continue to try to outdo each other with their bigotry, racism, intolerance and lies. Two egregious peas in a pod. As I pointed out the other day, they can't fill the engineering positions here in the US because we don't have enough engineers for the jobs that the automotive industry needs... so they're trying to recruit from other countries. But the aforementioned two stooges never met a story they couldn't or wouldn't twist into some kind of racist divisive screed.

How is this racist? Talk about a bunch of chumps...

Aside from a messed up headline, note this wasn't even written by me. It's the Reuters story hence the italics.

Tesla overall comp is pretty good for factory workers as long as you are factoring in the value of the stock options (which you should). Almost all major major manufactures have factories in Mexico, while Tesla builds all their cars in Silicon Valleu. If there is not enough supply of workers in California to meet demand, of course they are going to recruit from elsewhere.

The union is an anathema to workers. When Trump is re-elected in 2020--and he will be--he can then go about crushing unions which rape members for dues, spend it on Democrat politicians, and do NOTHING for the workers.

The cost is the same if not more with current requirements, you would only do a H-1B at this point if there really isn't anyone else to draw from in California.
