2019 Dodge Barracuda - the latest info about future muscle car!
Even though Challenger sales boomed back in 2015, once the new generation of muscle cars has been released, the sales started to decline in 2016 and 2017. This is mostly because the car is old. It has been unveiled back in 2006 and released on the market in 2007, so it is more than a decade old at this point. A successor is definitely in the works, but Dodge didn’t say all that much about it. However, it seems that the new model might be released as the 2019 Dodge Barracuda and it may have absolutely nothing in common with the current car.

Let’s not forget that all new muscle cars are smaller and lighter than their predecessors. The Challenger is the last remaining true muscle car weighing at over 4,400 pounds in certain trim levels. That is just too much for a car that aims to be the best offering in its class.

There no Dodge Barracuda. There is no Dodge anything in the pipeline.

As a former Barracuda owner (1967 fastback), I can't wrap my head around calling it a Dodge. And I'm a MOPAR fan. I'm fine with calling it an SRT Barracuda, but please skip the Dodge label.

This is just another of Sergio's idiocy. He puts money into reestablishing the Challenger and then hatched a plan to replace it with the SRT Barracuda, then SRT went belly up, as did all plans for anything new at Dodge.

Given how unreliable the Giulia is, maybe it's a blessing that Charger and Challenger replacements off the Giorgio platform are not on sale.

Dodge and Jeep drive FCA. I wouldn't underestimate Dodge bringing a dynamite Barracuda to market despite FCA cash issues. Of all the muscle brands Dodge has done the most with the least resources available. My son's Hellcat is a blast to drive, reliable and comfortable. Let's give them a chance and see what they come to market with before damning their efforts sight unseen.

Ummm NOT!
Jeep and Ram drive FCA.

True, the Charger sells OK in a shrinking market, but its days are numbered. Meanwhile, the Challenger comes nowhere near matching the Mustang's sales.

Put lips on it and it would be straight from the "Cars" movies.

Dodge cannot produce a muscle car unless the front lights look angry or mean. This Barracuda looks goofy.
It will never see the light of day looking like this photo.

It will never see the light of day, period. Talk to the owner of a Dodge dealer and you'll discover literally no future product is previewed for Dodge or Chrysler. Were it not for Ram at Dodge dealers and Jeep at Chrysler dealers (i.e. dealers not consolidated) those dealers would be out of business.
