Should Ferrari Even Think Of A 4 Door Sedan When The Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio Is Around?
Alfa Romeo has done it. The Italian automaker has beaten its German and American rivals in building the best driving, handling, and sounding high-performance sport sedan in its class. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, or QV, is powered by a Ferrari-derived 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with 505 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, with all of that power going to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic. Believe it or not - Ferrari and Alfa are two different companies - Ferrari was spun off from FCA a while back.

A Ferrari 4 door would be in a whole different class than the Giulia - maybe competing with the Maserati Quatroporte more than the Alfa. However - Ferrari is not having any problems selling its cars - and I would suggest that spending the money on a 4 door is not money well spent.

They are sort of two companies. The Italians who own FCA are the same Italians who own Ferrari. The spin off was just to keep Ferrari Italian when the FCA mess implodes.

It would be an interesting take. Considering just how long the wheelbase is on an FF/GTC4 Lusso, a sedan would be monstrous in its proportions. 6.0m? 6.5m? It would be so long the car would not fit into a parking spot.

if competing in the $150,000 - $200,000 price point, they could resurrect the Dino moniker as a sub-brand of Ferrari.

Apples to oranges comparison.

Should Ferrari do a crossover? Yes.

Should they worry about sedans? Nope.
