Spy Shots: 2009 Porsche Panamera and GT Coupe

This is the best shot we’ve seen of the upcoming four-door Porsche. The image sourced from CocheSpias reveals a car that borrows its styling from the 911, but that’s about all it shares with the iconic coupe. Much of the Panamera’s internals will be shared with the Cayenne, namely its V8 engines and interior fittings. A potent S model will develop roughly 500hp thanks to the twin-turbo 4.5L V8 also lifted from the Cayenne. What we’re most excited about is the possibility of a new hybrid option that will feature an electric motor mated to high-performance V6.

The rear still looks Maxima'ish'....still not sure about this. I know there are people that will buy it just because they have $70-80K to blow....but can it really keep the four door "coupe" design going?

I haven't really seen the CLS take over the world like everyone said it would.

Trying to cash in on the success of the "four-door" CLS?? But with this design I doubt they'll reach far, its just not "flowing"..

It will sell... if the Cayenne is any indication, and this car is something of a looker, it will sell volumes.

It has a little Ferarri in it. Hopefully that's a good thing.

i guess to keep up with the competition you need to have every size vehicle, but in my personal opinion I prefer to see porsche manufacter stronger, faster turbos than a porsche sedan..

Well, with competitors like Mercedes-Benz (CLS63 AMG), Aston Martin (Rapide), Maserati (Quattroporte Sport GT), and Audi (RS7) developing ultra-high-performance four-door style-luxe coupes, I don't think Porsche has much option.

I'm just thankful that they've stuck to their core 911 all these years. The best Porsche ever, no matter how much faster the Cayman gets. There is no substitute for the 911.
