Audi RS4 Convertible: To be or not to be in the USA?

Audi RS4 Convertible: To be or not to be in the USA?
I know the title is very confusing, but there are two different rumors about that: one saying that Audi has no plans of adding the RS4 Convertible to the USA line-up (WardsAuto) and another one saying that Audi of America is seriously considering the RS 4 Cabriolet for the American market (Fourtitude).

The RS4 cabriolet is powered by a 4.2L FSI V-8 engine with an output of 420 hp is only available in Europe for now.

Actually, I've read a review of it or two. They said that the reduced ridgidity and slightly upped weight don't impact the car's handling and out-of-this-world performance capabilities.

Most of the RS4 relevant stuff is on page 2
Think you might be wrong on the compromise in the conv version

Yes, the RS4 has sold so well that Audi is considering an RS4 convertible were previously it was completely out question that the RS4 convertible would come here.

Why would someone spend 70+k to purchase this car in non convertible form?? Now, an even worse question... why would someone spend near $80k for the convertible version?? jeesus you people are BLIND!! BLIND I SAY!!! what a RIP OFF!

Because it's faster than a Porsche Carrera (for probably $7K less), drives better than any M3, and is more exclusive than a CLK AMG.

This car is a dead ringer for the S4 Cabrio- if it comes, I'm reserving one immediately. I've been questioning whether a Carrera S cabrio would be a good daily driver for me (which I think may be my next car), and this may be just the ticket.

And then there's the question of the equally powerful, slightly less exclusive but more gorgeous Jaguar XKR... decisions, decisions...

80k dollars? thats so cheap! well, for the uk. and most definitely for denmark....

80000 dollars gets us a clk 350 cab....with no leather!

Just what I said, Will!

My car will be gone in five seconds if this thing hits our shores... now, I'm calling AoA to convince them!

I don't want an M3- I want more of a cruiser, not a frenetic, intense car like the M3. The S4 has served me very well.

And, in fact, I've put the XKR on my shopping list. It's absolutely gorgeous even in XK 4.2 trim, 420hp is a perfect amount of power, and did I mention it was gorgeous?

Others include a possible SL and a 911 Carrera S Cabriolet.

But I'm keeping my car for at least another three years!

Oh, and don't you disrespect the S4!

In my color, it's one of the classiest cars on the road!

But of course the XKR is even better... I mean, it's about $30K more with my options. (S4 was $63K vs. XKR at around $95K w/ options)

If you are seriously thinking about the XK for your next vehicle, I think you should read this Review
