With it, the Korean automotive giant wants to offer something new and exciting, primarily to the younger audience. The Hyundai’s aim is to offer a vehicle that will strike a perfect balance between practicality, sporty aesthetics and solid performance. According to the latest rumors, the Hyundai Kona will be built on the same platform the upcoming KIA Stonic SUV uses as well. Under its hood, the Kona will feature the same engines found in the latest Hyundai i30.

Styling wise, the car looks like it has "borrowed" from others (Jeep headlights, Audi grill). But derivative exterior styling aside, it offers a lot for what it is. Solid value for the dollar. Reasonably attractive. Solid reputation from the brand. I'd say "well done, Hyundai."

FYI, I hold the opinion that anybody should be able to build a respectable vehicle for US$50,000, but if you can do that for $25K, that's noteworthy!
