German Prosecutors Now Focusing On Bosch's Role In Global Emissions Cheating
German prosecutors who searched Daimler's offices this week as part of a probe into diesel pollution are also investigating employees at automotive supplier Bosch, daily Handelsblatt reported, citing the prosecutor's office.

"We are investigating Bosch employees for suspected aiding and abetting in connection with the Daimler case," the paper quoted a spokesman for the Stuttgart prosecutor's office as saying.

My understanding is that this investigation has already found Bosch guilty of colluding with Volkswagen in the Dieselgate scandal. The investigation has gone so far as to have a judge's ruling against them, in which Bosch will pay affected owners US$1300 (in addition to VW's payments) as part of the Dieselgate settlement.

The investigation revealed an email audit trail in which Bosch wrote to VW and informed them that the Bosch-designed and built engine control units (ECUs, computers) were "for testing purposes only" and "not street legal." Bosch mistakenly believed that email would hold them harmless in the event of a VW emissions scandal and subsequent legal action. However, the presiding judge rightfully concluded that Bosch could not have reasonably expected that VW was using these components for "testing purposes only" while shipping MILLIONS of "not for street use" units to VW.

With other car companies coming under fire for similar issues as VW it is starting to look like Bosch (main supplier of diesel engine components) had some involvement in the attempts to falsely report the emissions of diesel engines.
