Dodge Demon Pulls More G's Than A Bugatti Veyron At Launch
Tired of hearing about the Dodge Demon yet? Good, us neither. Already we know that the muscle car is good for as much as 840 horsepower (on race fuel), and a 0-to-60 sprint of just 2.3 seconds. But Dodge isn’t done dishing out all the details on the Demon just yet; the company just released a few "fun facts" about its most potent vehicle to date.

The first fact is this: during a quarter-mile run, the Demon’s V8 sucks up more than 173 cubic-feet of air. That’s equivalent to the lung capacity of 816 humans, and allows the engine the ability empty all the air in the cabin at just 800 feet into the same quarter-mile run.

This shows that anyone, even FCA, can make a fast car. But of course only Volkswagen can make something that's fast and refined like the Veyron/Chiron.

Mind you that The Veyron has been around for more than 10 years and only now FCA is bring us this.

Um, the chiron and the veyron are definitely modern marvels however they cost 25 times more than the dodge. I think the fact that FCA can make a car that has relative bugatti performance for a fraction of the price is an even bigger marvel. But then again i know....... audi is the greatest thing known to man and everyone else sucks. So i will shut up now. Ok thanks bye

for me Buggati's top speed and how it achieved it was the marvel along with the creature comfort available at 250mph. it is a work of art.

the dodge is a pure muscle beast. i don't even think these should be compared at all.

I seriously hope FCA has next-gen premium vehicle platforms lined-up for these crazy powerful powertrains they're producing. It would be a total waste of recources to not put the SRT Hellcat/Demon setups in premium Chrysler sedans & CUVs.

They don't.

The Maserati platform is the LX with revised front suspension. It is an aging platform built on an aging platform.

The Giorgio platform began with the Maserati/LX platform and messed around with wheelbase and width. So it's a new size for the LX, but it is very much an LX at its heart. They call it "all new" for marketing.

FCA had neither the time nor the money to do a new RWD platform from scratch. It is also apparently evident that the Giorgio platform was put into production well before adequate prototype testing occurred.

First there was the crash test failure debacle. Now that the cars are on sale, it apparent that the design was not refined for quality. A close inspection of a Giulia looks more like an engineering prototype than anything.

The Giorgio platform is "all new" in much the same way the 2015 Mustang's platform was all new. Ford started with bolting IRS into the DEW lite platform (which was designed for IRS and then backwards engineered to a live axle). Because handling targets necessitated a different front suspension, that was added in. Then styling needed to move the cowl. As a result, the platform is no longer a DEW lite, but it most decidedly shares bones with the 2005.

FCA is floundering with RWD. Maserati is doing poorly. The Levante has not challenged the segment. Sales of the Giulia and 300 are atrocious. Only the Challenger and Charger do well, but no new product is in line for them.
